1. Who we are

Hal ("Hal", "we", "us", "our") provides AI-assisted endurance coaching through our iOS application and related services.

2. Information we collect

We collect information you provide directly, information connected services send to us, and technical service data.

  • Account and profile details (name, email, goal context).
  • Training data from connected services such as Strava.
  • Onboarding responses and coaching context submitted in-app.
  • Session/authentication metadata required to keep your account secure and active.
  • Operational logs and event records required to run and troubleshoot the service.

3. How we use information

  • Provide personalized coaching outputs and daily training guidance.
  • Analyze workout adherence and update your recommended sessions.
  • Operate account authentication, consent tracking, and service reliability functions.
  • Prevent abuse, investigate incidents, and comply with legal obligations.

4. Legal basis and consent

Where required, we rely on your consent to process AI coaching data. You can withdraw consent in-app. Withdrawal may disable coaching features that require AI processing.

5. Sharing and processors

We share information only with service providers needed to run Hal (for example cloud infrastructure, model providers, and connected fitness integrations), and only for service delivery or legal compliance.

6. Data retention

We keep data only as long as required for service operation and legal obligations. Certain operational and Strava cache/event tables are enforced with strict maximum retention windows of up to seven (7) days.

7. Security

We use administrative, technical, and physical safeguards designed to protect personal information. No security control is absolute, and we cannot guarantee complete security in all circumstances.

8. International transfers

Your data may be processed in countries outside Australia where our providers operate. Where applicable, we use contractual and operational safeguards for cross-border processing.

9. Your rights

Subject to applicable law, you may request access, correction, deletion, or withdrawal of consent. Contact support@hal.coach to submit a request.

10. Account deletion

You can request account deletion from within the app profile area. On deletion, Hal performs a hard account wipe of athlete-scoped records and associated device registration state, with no retained tombstone profile for reactivation.
